Casey Anthony Trial: Deputy Kristin Brewer who’s the trainer for the cadaver K-9 dog, Bones, testified that Bones alerted to decomposition in the Anthony backyard. The next day he didn’t alert! Computer Examiner, Sandra Osborne, testified that someone did a Google search of the Anthony computer for the words, “chloroform” & “neck braking” amongst other things!

DEPUTY KRISTIN BREWER
Deputy Kristin Brewer testified that:

- She is the police handler for the K-9 cadaver dog, “Bones”, previously owned by Deputy Jason Forgey of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

- She and Bones work for the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.

- Bones was trained with placenta, blood, semen etc. He also trains with targets hanging in a tree, buried at various levels. Human blood is also put on tiles then wiped clean for Bones to locate. He’s trained on residual odor with bodies.

7-17-08 at 8pm Deputy Kristin Brewer and Bones arrived at the Anthony family home. They met there with Deputy Jason Forgey. They were not told of any prior searches. Deputy Brewera put Bones’ search collar on. He did a quick search by the pool, porch, corners of areas. He spent 3-4 minutes. THERE WAS AN AREA OF INTEREST HE KEPT SNIFFING, THEN GAVE A FINAL TRAINED ALERT – BONES ALERTED TO THE LEFT OF CAYLEE’S PLAYHOUSE.

- DEPUTY KRISTIN BREWER & K-9 DOG, BONES, CAME BACK THE NEXT DAY. THEY SAW THE SURFACE OF THE BACKYARD DUG UP. DEPUTY BREWER RAN BONES THROUGH THE SAME PROCESS & HE GOT NO ALERT!

On cross exam, defense lawyer, Jose Baez got Deputy Brewer that a dog can also alert to something decomposing from a live person.

When Jose Baez asked Deputy Brewer if Deputy Forgey said to her that his dog went into Caylee’s little playhouse and alerted, the prosecution objected and the deputy wasn’t allowed to answer the question.

There were no cadaver dog searches done in the home.

SANDRA OSBORNE
Sandra Osborne is a computer examiner for Orange County Sheriff’s Office. She testified that:

She examined Casey Anthony’s Nokia cell phone to find the number for Zenaida Gonzalez. She also examined a laptop and Anthony family desktop computers. She received 2 cameras: a Polaroid & Nikon Coolpix. (I’m sure Nikon appreciates Tot Mom endorsing them alongside Ashton Kutcher!)

Sandra Osborne testified that computer searches taken from the home revealed searches for:

- “chloroform”

- “neck braking”

- “making weapons of household products”

- “hand to hand combat”

- “head injuries”

- “chest trauma”

- “ruptured spleen”

- “death”

- “self defense”

- “inhalation”

- “internal bleeding”

To be fair: some of these searches could’ve been done by either Cindy or Lee Anthony. Here’s why – Cindy Anthony is a nurse and there’s a lot of medical terminology there like chest trauma, ruptured spleen, internal bleeding, inhalation. Etc.

Lee Anthony is a young male. Young males are known to like fighting sports. (I don’t know if he does) Some of the search terms could very easily have been Googled by a young male, including: hand to hand combat, self defense, neck braking etc.

Would Casey really need to engage in “hand to hand combat” and “self defense” to kill Caylee, a 2 year old?

Casey’s ex boyfriend, Ricardo Morales’ computer was also searched for the term “chloroform” and it wasn’t found.

She said she did not find any instances of the term “chloroform” on Morales’ computer. Baez quickly fired back, showing her the image Morales posted on his MySpace profile with the caption, “Win her over with chloroform.”
Osborne then confirmed for prosecutor Linda Drane Burdick that the caption was part of an image graphic, and would not show up in a search for text.

KEVIN STENGER
Sgt Kevin Stenger is Sandra Osborne’s supervisor. He supervised her work, assisted her and testified that whoever did the computer search for the term “chloroform” next visited Myspace afterwards.

JOHN DENNIS BRADLEY
John Bradley owns the Canadian software company called SiQuest that developed the software that cops used to analyze the computers.

As he approached the witness stand, Bradley bowed to Judge Perry, a gesture of courtesy under Canadian court etiquette.
Jose Baez pointed out a slew of other searches on the computer that seemed to be unrelated, including self defense, kung fu and zombies.
Baez also asked if Bradley had any financial interest in testifying, pointing out that his website mentions his software’s role in the Casey Anthony case. The website even links to our news report from March 2011.
