Casey Anthony Summary: 3 jail visitation tapes played with Casey complimenting her dad, George Anthony, repeatedly & calling him her “buddy”! When Casey had to choose 1 family member for visits – she chose George Anthony. When Cindy says newest story out is that Caylee drowned in pool, Casey sarcastically says, “Surprise, Surprise”. In 3rd tape, Casey exploded at her parents saying they never let her speak. That would be their final visit with her in years.
Christine Narkiewicz testified that she had to get a hair sample from Casey, had a problem with her tweezers and had to pull the hair out of Casey’s head with her own hands!
Lead CSI Investigator, Gerardo Bloise testified that the car smelled like a decomposing body!

JULY 30th JAIL VISITATION VIDEO WITH GEORGE & CINDY
Jail visitation videos of George and Cindy Anthony meeting with their daughter, Casey Anthony were played for the jury. The visit starts with Casey’s parents showing her the new t-shirts their wearing of Caylee that Annie had made up.
Cindy Anthony mentions that Caylee will be on the cover of People magazine. That they were on the Larry King Show and that Holly went on the Nancy Grace show.
Casey said she was worried about her grandmother then told her mom, Cindy Anthony that she (Cindy) needs to eat and sleep.
CASEY COMPLIMENTS HER DAD, GEORGE ANTHONY, saying, “dad you’ve done everything you possilbly can, YOU’RE THE BEST FATHER…..you & mom always done everything you possibly can to be the best parents…”
Cindy Anthnoy asked Casey if she thought Zanny would hurt Caylee. Casey responded, no that Caylee would be alright.
CASEY MENTIONED SHE USED DAD’S ANALOGY ABOUT HANDS LAST NIGHT & PEOPLE SMILED.
Casey mentioned she sent a note with her lawyer, Jose Baez, to her family. This could potentially be problematic for Baez. I’m not sure what the Florida law is but I would think that a lawyer is not suppose to be delivering personal notes from an inmate to the outside world.
Casey said she declined to jail visits last night because she was tired. She doesn’t know who they were from and feels bad about it.
Casey said, “We’re all going to see this & laugh. I’m the loud one. We know that dad is the quiet reserved one, he always processes thing.
At one point, CASEY SAID “GOD BLESS YOU DAD”.
Cindy mentioned having to explain the 911 tape.
GEORGE ANTHONY JAIL VISIT WITH CASEY
George Anthony mentioned that while he was on the jail visitation line that he ran into someone named Angela who use to work with Casey at Kodak in Universal Studios. She wished Casey well.
He said Caylee has captivated the world.
George said they’ve now joined a club they never wanted to join – the club for missing children. When this is over he vowed they’d be more proactive in helping to find missing children.
GEORGE SAID, “I WOULD GIVE MY LIFE RIGHT NOW FOR YOU & FOR HER”.
He said maybe he was to domineering in the past and would listen more.
Asked Casey to speak to someone he met named Scott about helping to find Caylee.
George mentioned that before you go to court, a lot of things are already handled in the judge’s office.
He mentioned USING LAWYER JOSE BAEZ TO GIVE LETTERS TO CASEY (not sure of Florida law, but is it legal for a lawyer to give inmates letters from outside?)
George mentioned how “awesome” the non profits were that are helping to look for Caylee & WHEN ALL THIS IS OVER, THAT GEORGE WOULD LIKE TO SEE CASEY WORK WITH THE NON PROFITS! (Tot Mom, the newest member of Texas EquuSearch??? LOL) He said the non profits made a video about Caylee & used Spongebob Squarepants. George reflected that that’s what he use to watch with Caylee.
George said the hopes that the compassion Jose Baez has is genuine and that he’s not sacrificing Caylee.
That People magazine spinned the story about their family.
George told Casey she’s a great mom.
That brother, Lee Anthony is a marketing genius and when this is over the non profits want to hire him!
Casey said she was reading her Bible in jail.
Caylee’s birthday was coming up in a few days & George said they were planning a big celebration.
George told Casey about the new CAYLEE BILLBOARDS THAT ARE LIGHT UP & NEW T-SHIRT DESIGNS.
George said Casey’s got her mom’s good looks and tough personality.
GEORGE SAID, “IF I COULD SWITCH PLACES WITH YOU IN A SECOND – I’D DO IT”!
CASEY TOLD GEORGE, “I LOVE YOU. YOU’LL ALWAYS BE MY BUDDY, BESIDES MY DAD.”
George asked if he could put money in her commissary account.
George mentioned he was contacted by both Casey and Lee’s former female teacher who was supportive. He didn’t want to mention her name because he didn’t want her bombarded by the media.
GEORGE SAID HE WOULD BE MEETING WITH JOHN WALSH – THE HOST OF AMERICA’S MOST WANTED!
Casey said thousands of kids go missing and they never get this sort of coverage.
After the video finished playing, lawyer Jose Baez told the Judge that the statements made by the Anthony family about him would prejudice the jury against him.
GEORGE & CINDY ANTHONY’S LAST JAIL VISIT WITH CASEY
This video took place on August 14th – 5 days after what would have been Caylee Anthony’s 3rd birthday. George and Cindy to a glass using a phone. She’s on the other side of the glass with her own phone. In this video Casey becomes really angry with her parents.
CINDY TOLD CASEY THAT THEN NEWEST STORY OUT IS THAT CAYLEE DROWNED IN A POOL. CASEY SAYS SARCASTICALLY, “SURPRISE, SURPRISE”.
Casey complained: “I’ve been here a month. I have nothing to go on.”
George: “you are the boss for this whole thing”. Casey said, “no I’m not.”
George: think of yourself as this conglomerate owning this huge business. Jose is one of your employees. So are we, the cops…”
Casey: “I am upset, the media is going to have a freakin field day for a second. Let me speak for a second. Can someone let me speak, nobody’s letting me speak, you want me to talk, give me 3 seconds to say something….my entire life has been taken from me. My entire life has been taken from me.” Jose is the only person I can talk to right now….. you guys expect me to have a thousand answers and I have nothing, what am I suppose to learn from that, I can’t backtrack, a month I’ve been removed from the situation – you’re still asking me if there’s anything I can do to help….I can’t do anything from here, I can’t look up stuff, can’t go on internet.
Cindy: “I was in Lake County 2 days ago……we’re going in all different direction. We just want to go in right one.
Casey: “I can’t point you in that direction, I’m removed from the situation. …..You have everything, I have no one to comfort me but myself and the occasional visit which has to be business”
Cindy mentioned Jose Baez was in New York. Casey said she knows and that Cindy isn’t telling her something that she doesn’t already know.
Cindy: “Dominic’s a good person if you want to talk to anyone…”
Casey: “With keeping me here you’re not helping me help myself.”
Cindy: “We don’t have means to get you out.
Casey: “The opportunity was there! Give dad the phone!!!
Casey mentioned that on Saturday she and lawyer, Jose Baez watched an episode of the Nancy Grace show.
When her parents kept asking her for new info, Casey said, “you expect me 1 month out of loop to have some sort of new insight on stuff. Really?”
CASEY FORCED TO CHOOSE 1 FAMILY MEMBER FOR VISITS – CHOOSES DAD!
Casey to George on visitation visits: “Mom would dominate the conversation. I wanted to see all of you but I wanted to see the one person who I’ve been disconnected from the longest & that was you.”
George told Casey that if she wants to see him, to tell Corrections and they can expedite that for her.
George asked Casey how she got through Saturday, Caylee’s birthday. Casey said she was miserable! Spent the day under the covers and read her Bible.
George mentioned that there was a young man who was alone and they invited him into talk.
Casey said she’s in a section of the jail for high profile inmates.
Cindy: “Stuff being said out there is obscene….”
Casey: “I know she’s coming home….
Cindy: “what do you want me to say to Zanny on air to bring Caylee back”?
Casey: “Tell her we forgive her and to give Caylee back. …….”
CASEY: “Stop it! THIS IS ONE OF THE REASONS I CHOOSE DAD, HE WON’T ASK ME THE SAME QUESTION OVER & OVER AGAIN! HE & I HAVE HAD A BROKEN RELATIONSHIP FOR A LONG TIME BUT WE WERE JUST STARTING TO TALK BEFORE I CAME HERE.”
Casey said she hated having to pick who in her family she wanted to see more. Said people send her letter from all over country, letters of support.
Casey: “Michelle Murphy sent me a bible”
Cindy Anthony then started complaining that the jail wouldn’t allow Casey to have the Bible her parents left with her. Casey explained that it has to go through the mail.
GEORGE TOLD CASEY THAT IF SHE WANTED TO SPEAK TO HIM TO SEND A NOTE TO SHERIFF KEVIN BERRY & HE’LL ARRANGE IT. He said it’s already been discussed and to give the note to the prison guards. The family can then meet with her at a location not video or audio taped. George said the Sheriff is willing to help.
CASEY TOLD CINDY THAT IF THE SHERIFF’S DEPT. IS NOT BEING NICE TO YOU, THEN DON’T TALK TO THEM!
DETECTIVE CHARITY BEASLEY
Detective Charity Beasley testified that on 7-16-08, she assisted Detective Yuri Melich in getting the car, computer & misc. items from Casey Anthony’s home. The car was towed to forensics lab at the sheriff’s office. She followed the tow truck the entire way. She turned over the car to CSI Gerardo Boise. Cindy Anthony gave her items in a blue plastic crate including a doll, Dora backpack, toothbrush, black leather bag, papers, plastic clothes hangers, compact laptop serial # cnd6430rkh. Cheney Mason did the cross exam. Det. Charity Beasley said she put evidence tape over each opening of the car and doesn’t remember if she smelled an odor from the trunk.
AWILDA MCBRYDE
Works in missing person’s unit. She went with George Anthony to Johnson’s Wrecker to collect bag of trash found in Casey’s car.
CHRISTINE NARKIEWICZ
Took swabs of Casey’s cheek & hair. There was a problem with the tweezer to get the hair, so SHE HAD TO PULL HAIR OUT OF CASEY’S HEAD!
GERARDO BLOISE
He work for CSI. Examined Casey Anthony’s car and said he SMELLED THE ODOR OF DECOMPOSITION COMING FROM THE CAR!
He testified he found dried leaves under the car, NO EVIDENCE OF DEAD ANIMALS & TOOK CAR APART FOR EVIDENCE.
FOUND A SINGLE HUMAN HAIR IN THE TRUNK! Red fiber found on left side of trunk. Hair was by red fiber. Collected more hair from trunk, & residue from air freshner sheet. (Cindy Anthony had placed an air freshener sheet in the trunk once they brought it back to the house)
He got items like blue container with Caylee’s babydoll, Dora backpack etc.
Jose Baez did the cross exam.
Baez: “when you used word decomposition about smelling ODOR – you didn’t know whether it was human or non human. It could be animal, meats, or human”
Baez said that during decomposition, that you would see thousands of MAGGOTS – Gerardo Bloise quickly said that maggots are not his expertise.
Jose Baez also questioned Gerardo Bloise on his experience of smelling dead bodies at the Medical Examiner’s office. Baez suggested that when Bloise goes to the M.E.’s office that what he’s really smelling is formaldehyde and fecal matter!
Gerardo Bloise: “I know the smell from a decomposed body. That smell is unique. Once you smell it you will never forget that smell….The smell from the Medical Examiner’s office is not the same as a decomposing body….At full decomposition, it’s a very strong smell.
Baez pointed out that Bloise was not informed that the car was sprayed with Febreze or air freshener clothes. That dead leaves have no forensic value.
JOSE BAEZ ALSO REFERENCED THE STAIN IN CASEY’S CAR TRUNK – A CHEMICAL CALLED BLUE STAR (SIMILAR TO LUMINAL) WAS USED. YOU SPRAY IT TO INDENTIFY BLOOD – THE RESULTS WERE NEGATIVE!
Baez asked Bloise if he knew if there was any DNA found on the car stain. Boise was not allowed to answer that question.
Gerardo Bloise said he FOUND 12 HAIRS IN THE CAR. 1st set collected 7-17-08. Some hairs collected by vacuum.
Jose Baez asked him if he found animals hairs in the trunk.
Jose Baez: “You’re experienced in trace recovery. (minute evidence like hairs, text tile fibers)…..if you take clothing or backpack off & it’s put in the trunk of the car, that will transfer hair to trunk.
Baez pointed out the car was 10 years old so it would have quiet a bit of evidence!
Baez pointed out that the hairs Gerardo Bloise sent to the lab were tested for mitochondrial DNA. (Mitochondrial is DNA that’s shared by all members of your family related to your mother. It can’t conclusively identify an individual. A mom, daughter & grandma will all have the same mitochondrial DNA. The better DNA test to conclusively identify an individual person would’ve been a nuclear DNA test) GERARDO BLOISE SAID IT WAS THE LAB’S DECISION TO TEST FOR MITOCHONDRIAL DNA, NOT HIS!
11 hairs were collected by vacuum, 23 hairs total. Baez threw it in Bloise’s face that he, BLOISE WAS PRESENT WHEN THE DEFENSE’S OWN DOCTOR, DR. HENRY LEE FOUND ADDITIONAL HAIRS IN THE TRUNK THAT GERARDO BLOISE FAILED TO FIND.
Baez said that on the trunk liner, certain animal hairs were pointed out. GERARDO BLOISE NOW CLAIMS HE DESTROYED HIS NOTES THAT WOULD’VE SAID IF ANIMAL HAIRS WERE FOUND.
Gerardo Bloise has no mention of animal hairs in the car in his official report. He said once the report is generated his notes are destroyed. Jose Baez pressed him that because he doesn’t have his notes he doesn’t know if animal hairs were written about in the notes. Boise claimed that if animal hairs were found in the car he would’ve put it in his report.
Jose Baez: “You testified about garbage turned over to you. Moist Trash. In trash, multiple packages of food. 37 items of trash listed as evidence: Bottle with chewing tobacco spit in it, 3 boxes of Velveeta cheese….
On redirect, Prosecutor Linda Drane-Burdick pointed out that when the defense inspected the car that they didn’t wear hairnets, just gloves.
Judge Belvin Perry asked the the prosecution about their best guess as to when they’ll wrap up. THE DA SAID THEY’LL LIKELY WRAP UP THEIR CASE BY NEXT FRIDAY!
