Casey Anthony Trial: Boyfriend Tony Lazzaro testified about 7-16-08 when Cindy Anthony came to get Casey from his apartment. (that day Casey confessed Caylee kidnapped by Zanny) After spending all day driving around with cops looking for Caylee, Casey texted Lazzaro saying she’s “the worst mother” and “If they don’t find her guess who spends eternity in jail”?
Cindy Anthony, testified that the backyard slopes and if she’s standing at the lowest level the water comes up to her nose. Pictures shown of Caylee’s playhouse in backyard, obstacles to get to yard like sliding glass door & screen, that Caylee spent Father’s Day with Cindy & her father then swam in pool with Caylee, afterwards she took away the ladder to backyard pool. Cindy said she kept looking for Zanny up until 6 weeks ago. Cindy said Casey told her she & Caylee were in Tampa then Jacksonville due to her work then to visit ex boyfriend. A frustrated Cindy then creates Myspace page saying Caylee is missing (before 911 call) saying she used page to tell Casey how she felt.
Despite Cindy Anthony testifying to all of Casey’s lies about her non existent friends and what she was never doing during the time Caylee was missing (all of which helps the prosecution) Cindy did manage to blast a hole through the DA’s motive for murder! Just yesterday DA Frank George said Casey’s motive for murder was that her PARENTS and child were holding her back from living the life she wanted. That they always wanted her & Caylee home. Cindy Anthony testified today that:
1) She never had to know Casey’s every whereabouts
2) She never ordered Casey to come home.
3) She said that she let Casey live her life.
During a break, with the jury out of the room, Casey Anthony had a near breakdown at the defense table after her mom’s testimony! Her face turned beet red, I’m talking redder than Santa’s suit, tears started to stream out, she shook her head, flailed her hands. She seemed upset over mom, Cindy Anthony’s testimony about all of the lies she told. Defense lawyer, Dorothy Clay Sims put her hand around Casey to comfort her and whispered something.
I occurred to me that the Casey Anthony story is almost like the that book, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.
TONY LAZZARO
Casey Anthony’s boyfriend, Tony Lazzaro testified that on June 16th 2008 he went to the movies with Casey. Lazzaro said that on 7-16-08 he was at his apartment with Nate & Casey playing X-Box when Casey’s friend, Amy Huizenga came to the door and Casey left with her. Then the door flung open. Cindy Anthony, Casey’s mom came in, they argues, Casey said, “no, I’m coming back!”. Casey’s brother Lee Anthony then called, then came over to Tony Lazzaro’s apartment. Tony Lazzaro handed him a duffel bag of Casey’s clothes and a laptop.
Later that day, Casey Anthony texted Tony & said, “I’m so sorry for not telling you. We obviously need to talk. I love you.” Casey said she didn’t know where Caylee was, that she was driving around all night taking cops to old apartments where Zanny the Nanny lived. She mentioned she was handcuffed in the police car for 10 minutes. Casey texted, “I’m the worst f*cking person in the entire world, I don’t know what I’ll do if something happens to her.”… “I’m the dumbest person & the worst mother, I honestly hate myself”…. “If they don’t find her guess who spends eternity in jail”, Casey texted. Casey texted to Tony that the last time she saw Caylee was when she dropped her off to Zanny’s apartment at the bottom of the stairs in the Sawgrass Apartments.
CINDY ANTHONY
Casey Anthony’s mom, Cindy Anthony was called to the stand. Here’s Cindy Anthony’s testimony:
- She’s lived at the house on Hopespring Drive since Oct. 1989 when they came to Florida from Orlando. Lee Anthony was 7, Casey was 3.
- Not suspicious of Casey being pregnant. Chalked it up to bloating from her menstrual cycle, which they both have.
- 6-30-05, she found out Casey was pregnant when Casey came to her job and told her. They created a nursery in the computer room & had a Winnie The Pooh theme that Casey also had.
- Testified to layout of the house, where rooms are, no grass anymore.
- Don’t use the front door, they use the garage.
- Yard slopes. At lowest level, water in pool comes up to Cindy’s nose. She’s 5’4. The pool is 4 feet.
- Pictures shown of Caylee’s playhouse, picnic table & mailbox in backyard. They were a present for 2nd birthday, “We wanted her to have it. When asked who “we” was, Cindy included Casey in the we.
- Obstacles to back yard: sliding glass door, screen door – both with locks. Casey had bought door knob protectors
- Caylee slept mostly in Casey’s room with occasional nap in her room.
- Father’s day 6-15-08 Cindy took Caylee to see Cindy’s dad in a nursing home in Moutn Dora. A picture of Caylee coloring at nursing home shown, had lunch at Cindy’s mom home, went back home then swam in Anthony family pool. Casey came home, incquired about going into the pool. Cindy said Caylee had had enough. Cindy put away the ladder by resting it aside the pool. Cindy, Casey and Caylee sat in living room watching videos of grandpa from earlier. Cindy said that hospice was called in so she thought it would be Caylee’s last time with her grandpa. That’s why she video taped it. Cindy & Casey cried. Caylee didn’t know why they were crying.
- Caylee was 38-40 inches, weighed 30 pounds.
-6-16-08 Cindy went to work 7am, believed Caylee was home when she left.
- Cindy saw she knew Casey worked because she had an id around neck. Cindy also saw emails from job.
- 3 months after Caylee born, Casey went back to work. Cindy knew Casey had reprimand but boss wanted her.
- Spring 2006 Casey was engaged to Jesse Grund who told Casey of co-worker Jeffrey Hopkins who used Zanny as babysitter.
- At this point, Cindy Anthony asked Judge Perry if he could remove Caylee’s picture from off the computer screen in front of her. It was making her emotional.
- Zanny moved around, at one point lived in same student living quarters at UCF where Jeffrey Hopkins lived.
- Cindy said she looked for Zanny up until 6 weeks ago.
- 6-16-11 Cindy left a message for Casey around 4 pm. Had a brief conversation. Casey said she’d be spending the night with Zanny. Couldn’t drop Caylee off with Cindy at work (allowed) because Cindy had late staff meeting. That morning George worked 3-11pm. Cindy expected to see Caylee the next day on Tuesday.
6-17-08 Casey said she was an event planner at Universal Studios. She claimed Universal Studios had an event planned with the Hard Rock Café. Casey told Cindy negotiations at work were running late and Caylee would be staying with Zanny.
6-18-08 Casey told Cindy that negotiations from the Hard Rock were going to Tampa, FL. Casey said it would be fun to take Caylee to Tampa to Busch Gardens. Zanny the Nanny was free and co-worker Juliette Lewis would bring her little girl, Annabelle so Caylee would have a playmate. Casey thought meetings would wrap up on Friday. Cindy expected to see Casey Saturday 6-21-08.
- Talked to Casey everyday. Cindy asked to speak to Caylee on the phone. Casey said Caylee was with Zanny & Annabelle or in bed.
- Casey told Cindy negotiations didn’t finish on Friday. Zanny, co worker Juliette Lewis, her daughter Annabelle & one of Zanny’s friends named Raquel to spend day at park, they’d return home on Monday 6-23-08.
- Cindy left message for Casey. Casey said there was a car accident. Casey, Cayley Juliette Lewis & Annabell, following Zanny & Raquel, Zanny ahead of her, Casey witnessed Zanny getting into car accident. Casey was all day at hospital.
- 6-24-08 George Anthony contacted cops around 10-11am about someone breaking into his shed and stealing gas cans. Cindy told Casey about shed break in on phone.
- Cindy learned George had seen Casey at the house on 6-24- 08. George called Cindy about that. Cindy thought Casey was in hospital in Tampa with Zanny. Casey said Zanny was to be admitted but didn’t have insurance identification so Casey offered to drive to Zanny’s apartment to get her insurance info. She stopped home to get a few things. She said it never occurred to her to bring Caylee back home. Told Cindy she had given George back his gas cans. She took them when she drove to Tampa. Casey said Zanny’s mother ill & she’s not able to leave. Roommate Raquel hurt, fractured or dislocated her shoulder. Casey felt obliged to Zanny to stay with her & wanted Caylee close to her.
- Cindy said she was now sleeping with little Caylee’s favorite teddy bear, Teddy. A few days later Cindy discovered teddy was missing. Cindy said after that time she told Casey she slept with Teddy.
-6-24, 25, 26, 27 – Cindy didn’t see Caylee or Casey. Casey said Zanny had a concussion & internal bleeding. Casey to stay at hospital. Released on Thursday. Casey to be home on Friday 6-27-08.
- In early afternonn, Cindy said Casey gotten back but was called to work for a few hours. To be home later that evening. That evening, Casey called & said friend Jeffrey moved out of state. Cindy was under impression Casey & Jeffrey dated. He was in town in Orlando. Casey wanted to see Jeff. Zachary was Jeff’s son. Caylee & Zachary close friends. Casey said it would be fun for Caylee to go see Zachary.
- Cindy said she and Casey were suppose to meet Jeffrey, his mom & Zachary at mall for pics with Santa. Cindy said she waited at mall but was told Zachary had an asthma attack so only Cindy, Casey and Caylee took pics with Santa at the mall.
- 6-27-08 Casey was suppose to come home late with Caylee. Cindy said Jeffey had a trustfund, he invited Zanny, Casey and Caylee to stay with him. Next day to go to Universal.
- At this point Cindy Anthony blasted a hole through the prosecutions murder theory: Cindy Anthony said she never had to know Casey’s every whereabouts & never ordered her home. She let Casey live her life! Just yesterday, with Cindy Anthony present & taking notes from the gallery, DA Frank George told Judge Perry that Casey’s motive for murder was that both her parents and her child were holding her back from living the life she wanted. That the parents always wanted her and Caylee home. What Cindy just said blows a hole right through that motive for murder. Cindy is saying she never had to know Casey’s whereabouts & never ordered her home.
- Cindy testified she was off from work entire week 6-30-08 through 7-4-08 on vacation. Weekend before vacation started. During week Cindy had off, she communicated with Casey by phone. Cindy was expecting to watch Caylee on her vacation.
- Casey was working on an event for her job, day in park on Universal property, where kids could play in pool, see characters. Etc. Casey told Cindy she couldn’t come when Cindy asked if she could go.
7-3-08 Cindy wanted to drive out to Universal Studios where Casey worked. Earlier that day Cindy had issues (money issues) & wanted to talk to Casey. Cindy went to guest services at Universal to see Casey. On the phone, Casey said she was not in Universal –that she was in Jacksonville, FL.! Casey said she followed Jeffrey back to his condo to try & rekindle their friendship. Cindy realized Casey had lied to her for a few days, telling her she was at work when she was really in Jacksonville
7-3-08 Cindy asked Casey’s friend Ryan, who lived in Jacksonville if she was really there, (Cindy called Ryan from Universal Studios) Ryan said she had contacted him & said she was coming.
Cindy asked Lee if Casey told him where she was. He hadn’t spoken to her. Lee and Casey has some mutal friends. Lee said he thought Casey wasn’t in Jacksonville due to chatter on Myspace & Facebook due to an event downtown. Casey mentioned to friend she would be downtown during the 4th of July. Lee said to CI there’s possibility CS could be in town.
-After 8pm on 7-3-08, (the same day Casey got her Bella Vita tattoo) Cindy created a Myspace account and posted my Caylee is missing! She said it was her way of telling Casey how she felt. Cindy said she didn’t know how Myspace worked. Didn’t know everyone could read it. Cindy “I didn’t know Myspace was everybody’s space”. Cindy claims she never posted a picture on Myspace. After Cindy posted the Myspace message, she never got response back from Casey right away. A few days later, Casey said she thought Cindy was being hard on her for writing that.
